As many people know, I get many viewer suggestions for objects that we can shoot out of a shotgun.
There are quite a few factors that I have to consider.
Size: Will it even fit into a 12 ga. shell? CO2 cannisters, nickels, quarters and mouse balls are too large. Objects that are too small, will not show up on our cameras.
Weight: If an object is too light, the smokeless powder will not ignite. If an object is too HEAVY, the shotgun can blow up from the spike in pressure. The load should be from one third to one ounce.
I prefer to use objects that I don’t have to modify to fit. Many people want us to shoot super balls, but I don’t think anyone makes them small enough because they pose a choking hazard. If I were to use a large super ball and whittle it down, it just wouldn’t have the same excitement.
