Scientists have spotted the iconic surfer’s wave rolling through the atmosphere of the sun. The waves hold clues as to how energy moves through that atmosphere, known as the corona, and may help explain why it can be 1000 times hotter than the surface of the sun. The size of the United States, these waves are still almost too small to see from Earth.
