Tomy is a well known Japanese toy company that was founded over 80 years ago. This particular toy is completely mechanical, there are no batteries to run out!
Tip the toy upside down, to get all the sand in the hopper at the top. Then, as the sand flows down through a series of channels, you need to catch as much sand as you can, and tip it into a little hopper at the side.
Simple, but very well designed.
