After going for the second spot in the second spot for the last two quarters, Samsung has finally clinched the top spot again to lead India’s top smartphone market. Samsung has got a share of about 29 per cent at the end of the June while Xiaomi has got the share of about 28 per cent, as said by the Counterpoint Research on Tuesday. This report has come after the earlier reports which have claimed that Samsung had fallen to claim the top spot against the Xiaomi in the second quarter.

The new report said that the new refreshed Galaxy J-series smartphones have helped the South Korean giant claim the top spot and to defeat the Beijing based company Xiaomi. The Xiaomi’s share has fallen from 31 per cent in the first quarter to about 28 per cent in the last quarter. But the Chinese giant has been shipped their highest shipments ever in the second quarter.

As per the latest report, it claims that the smartphone market in India has now returned to double-digit growth which is about 18 per cent over a year. In this growth, Samsung has gained nearly about 26.2 per cent market share which was reported in the first quarter to about 29 per cent in the 2nd quarter.

According to Karn Chauhan, who is the research Analyst of Counterpoint Research, said that Samsung had regained the top position after losing it to Xiaomi in last two quarters. The success of the Xiaomi in this quarter is limited as the Samsung has launched its all refreshed J-Series models in the market. These new smartphones have bought some interest among the buyers and for which it has made the company get the top position.

In the contrast results, the share of the Xiaomi has now decreased from 31.1 per cent to about 28 per cent in the 2nd quarter. But if we see the overall growth of the company, then we can see that the company growth has been increased t about 12 per cent. Chauhan added by saying that the race between the Samsung and Xiaomi will be very close as the festive season will be coming so the demands for the smartphone will be increased during this time to a great extent.
