Samsung Galaxy S9 new design ‘confirmed’
Samsung is reportedly working towards the launch of its next-generation Galaxy S9 smartphone. The South-Korean technology giant plans on unveiling the handset at the official CES event, scheduled to take place next month. Ahead of most Galaxy smartphone launches, case-maker Ghostek usually puts out Galaxy smartphone covers out for pre-orders. There are two advantages of Ghostek doing this – first, interested purchasers can reserve their preferred cases and second, the audience gets a vague idea of what design the possible Galaxy S9 smartphone might feature.

According to a report by Forbes, the latest line-up of Galaxy S9 smartphone covers that Ghostek has put out for pre-orders, represent a waterproof, nautical-look. Thanks to the pictures posted by Ghostek, one has a vague idea of what to expect from the upcoming smartphone from every angle. With this information, it is easy to assume that the design of the forthcoming Galaxy S9 smartphone will be similar to its predecessor.
The only difference it seems will be regarding the bezels that will be presented on the front panel of the Galaxy S9 smartphone. Notably, the top and bottom bezels of the Galaxy S9 smartphone will be thinner than its predecessors. Moreover, it will end up having a higher body-to-screen ratio in comparison to what appeared on the Apple iPhone X. The rear camera system has been moved to a more central position, with the Flash feature placed adjacent to it.
The fingerprint scanning feature is repositioned towards the center as well, right under the camera system. The information also further goes on to confirm that the Galaxy S9 smartphone will end up packing a dual rear camera setup as well – just like its predecessor.
The report by Forbes notes that this will be the first time that Samsung will pack up possible camera “split” camera capabilities in the smartphone. The above-mentioned information has not been confirmed by Samsung as yet.
