Agri Future Joetsu is the only company in Japan that makes a plastic called “agri wood” from rice.
Unlike conventional plastic that is influenced by oil market prices, agri-wood can be stably supplied at a low cost because it can be made from domestic resources such as powdered wood and ground rice. Also, because agri-wood uses raw materials that are derived from plants, the amount of energy that is generated when incinerated is minimal, and CO2 emissions do not increase.
Next Agri Future Joetsu plans to expand the use of agri-wood nationwide by forming partnerships with various manufacturers.
