ESA astronaut Tim Peake, NASA astronaut Tim Kopra and cosmonaut Yuri Malenchenko were launched into space 15 December 2015. This marked the beginning of Tim’s six-month Principia mission.
This timelapse shows their Soyuz TMA-19M rocket being rolled out to the launchpad and liftoff.
Tim will run over 30 scientific experiments for ESA and together with the UK Space Agency. Tim will take part in many exciting educational activities around the Principia mission, aimed at sparking the interest of young children in science and space.
