The Siemens gas turbine factory in Berlin delivers its 1000th gas turbine.
The total installed capacity of the 1,000 gas turbines produced in Berlin, amounting to nearly 220 gigawatts, would be sufficient to theoretically supply approximately one billion people with electricity. The jubilee gas turbine, with a weight of 300 metric tons and a capacity of 300 megawatts, has been built for the combined cycle power plant Umm Al Houl in Qatar.Over 90 percent of the 1,000 gas turbines manufactured in Berlin were exported. They went to a total of 65 different countries.
