Today I finally got a chance to crack open my ASUS Google Nexus 7 v2 32GB HD tablet and compare it to my old ASUS Google Nexus 7 v1 and the results were good. I was certainly shocked that the v1 stands up to it so well. Turns out the v1 still has a lot of life it in and the v2 is really just a lot of refinement but that makes a lot of sense because after all it’s v2 and not a different model number. The quality of the cameras on this tablet are awesome and made the upgrade for me well worth it. I am going to keep my v1 though and put it on my DSLR rig and use it as a camera controller.

If you are looking for a tablet that will fit in your pocket but has a huge screen this is a great pick. The build quality on it is amazing and on par with an iPad mini and the device is very snappy and responsive. Now unlike iOS devices you might find apps that just won’t work or have severe problems on the device but that is the nature of android since they service such a diverse set of hardware. But if your a rouge like me and enjoy being able to run just about anything you want emulators, blue tooth peripherals, usb peripherals then this is the way to go since iOS prevents all of those things to some extent. This device gives you a hell of a lot of freedom!
