Even as the space shuttle program comes to a close, NASA is already building its next human spacecraft, the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle (MPCV), around the country. Orion is being designed and tested to go further than we’ve ever gone and do things the shuttle could never do, namely explore deep space.
