Could you climb a rock wall in seven seconds? These speed climbers can.
In speed climbing, competitors scale the wall in a race to the top. It’s one of three disciplines that make up sport climbing, which will debut at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The other two disciplines are lead climbing, where racers attach their ropes to clips, and bouldering, where athletes try to master uneven surfaces.
As if regular climbing wasn’t difficult enough.
