Exposing your kids to SOME hardship is good. It could save them. The concepts of work, personal accountability, confidence in austere conditions, skill sets that can serve without electricity, respect are just some of the lessons that many children are NOT getting these days. As my long time friend BuggetNuster and I do some campsite work in the desert mountains we discuss such things. It is unstructured and honest, just like the conversations we have constanting OFF camera. Into the conversation will come somewhat jargonistic references to our military jobs with accompanying video showing some of our inflight refueling.
