Today Paul talks to Darrin, Intel’s Product Marketing Engineer, about their versatile Z68 Chipset.

The Z68 Chipset for Intel’s 2nd Generation Core i3/i5/i7 Sandy Bridge Processors does a few things for you: first, it enables both CPU overclocking (with K-series CPUs) and GPU overclocking of the integrated GPU. This combines the functions of the H67 and P67 chipsets that were released along with Sandy Bridge. It also allows you to use Smart Response Technology, combining a small SSD and an HDD to enhance your system’s performance, and Quick Sync, which is an accelerated video-encoding tool that processes via the iGPU.

For those who are trying it out, Darrin and Paul walk through the setup of SRT and perform some benchmarks to show the speed boost in action.
