How to Cast Your Display With the Screen Off

In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to keep your screen off while still Chromecast mirroring your display with Screen Standby. This app does require root, but there is a non-root option. The non-root route doesn’t save as much battery, and still runs the risk of overheating your device if it is left on too long.
This works best when combined with an external input device like a PS3/PS4 control or Bluetooth mouse. If you do end up getting stuck with a screen that won’t turn back on, all you have to do is restart your device by pressing the Volume Up and Power buttons.
