An uncanny ability to sniff out narcotics and explosives means that military working dogs have saved countless lives and remain integral to the NATO mission in Afghanistan. At Camp Sharana in the Paktika province of Eastern Afghanistan, military working dogs are put through their paces by the training team. Footage includes wide shot — forward operating base sharan in the paktika province of eastern afghanistan; military working dog sign on gate, military working dog alan tackles the obstacle course, dog runs around looking for scented practice instrument, close ups of dogs looking into camera, dog and handler search vehicles for explosives, dog tries to get toy from handler, dogs attack training — handlers in special suit attacked by dog, injured dog in car, with handler and in plane, and Staff Sergant Shawn Martinez talks to camera.
