Mercury (Hg) Poured Through a Screen – Weird STATIC Effect -SCIENCE

Published on October 20, 2017

Did you know that breaking droplets of fluids into drops will cause static to be generated? This is true even for mercury. As the droplets are broken up, and the droplet fall through the air, the droplets are charged with static electricity. The very heavy droplets can be seen flying OUTWARD as soon as they leave the screen. It’s very like what you’d see when you take two magnets and face the same poles toward each other.

What does mercury do when it is poured through a strainer? People have asked me to do this for over a year.
