A massive 100-foot-long Marine Corps CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter made an emergency landing on Wednesday in Solana Beach in southern California.

The helicopter is the largest and heaviest in the U.S. military, and is often used for transporting troops and carrying supplies into enemy territory. However, it has known safety problems, as a recent NBC News investigation revealed.

A low oil-pressure indicator light went on in the cockpit, resulting in the sudden landing, according to a statement from Marine Corps Air Station Miramar. The precautionary landing came during a training exercise; there were no damages or injuries but residents, Gunnery Sgt. Donald Bohanner said, and beach-goers got to experience quite a spectacle. Four hours after landing, the helicopter took off and headed back to the Miramar base.
