Maker MiPosaur, Maker MiP and EDU MiP This is our first look at the new Maker MiP and EDU MiP Robotics line from WowWee. Lots to love here if you are into to learning about Robotics.
Maker MiPosaur is great for beginners. Just put it together and use a simple remote to control MiPosaur. Very simple build. Maker MiPosaur will sell for $29.99
Maker MiP kicks things up a notch with the ability to add sensors with the Breakout Board. Now the MiP becomes expandable and you can do cool things like sense for objects or light. Also love the educational manual that explains what the pieces are to MiP and how they actually work. Maker MiP will sells for $149
Things get really cool with EDU MiP. The advanced robotics kit is for the high school and college level. You start with a Beaglebone Black Linux computer board and expand from there. Love the online educationally videos. This really is like taking a college level robotics class. Also, not limited to WowWee parts – fully expandable with countless boards and processors.
The kit will actually come with the Beaglebone Blue – a new board they developed for the Mip EDU. The ability to learn via video courses from a top level college professor and then practice what you learn with advanced, open ended hardware – is very cool. Also love the LabVIEW connection – that is unique for the programmable robotics kit industry.
EDU MiP will retail for about $200
