Today I’ll be testing the prototype web cartridge. Each is filled with 25 feet of kevlar cord that is rated up to 2000lb. Now I know this setup is bulky but we can make improvements and to be clear, I’m trying to make Peter Parker’s homemade version which is comparable in size. This seen in the trailer for Spider-Man Homecoming (Teaser) video. Enjoy and ring the bell to stay part of the G3AR H3ADS!

Spider-Man has some amazing super hero reflexes, but his web shooters are a work of MAKER MINDSET put to work! He is a maker in the Spider-Man Homecoming Movie, and just a high school student! (Super Genius) His intelligence helps him stand out and fight crime. Even Iron-Man himself deems him worthy to be an AVENGER! I was inspired by Peter Parker’s maker Web Shooters seen in the movie trailer that he created himself. Their clunky size makes it a most plausible build.

In this video I’ll show you my sketches of the spider-man web shooters and you’ll see a working prototype! It’s not perfect, but the idea is to create a ROUGH prototype and then go back and design and 3D print a custom design using Autodesk Fusion360

Wow, I don’t know where to start! Since last time I’ve added an actual launching mechanism; a CO2 Bike Pump that is concealable and easy to work with. I took inspiration from Colin Furze and his Assassins Creed Grappling Hook design. Designing a shuttle that goes down the barrel and orienting the grappling hook claws outward when fired was a genius idea.

Additionally I’ve added a harness to suspend myself from. At first I thought about an arm bracer, but this seems a lot safer. Now I did see Sufficiently Advanced “Soft Exoskeleton Design” and this is also very cool, maybe not safe, but still cool. To be honest it is just easier to buy a harness. I feel like I’ll stick with this idea!

Next I’ve finally tested the 2000lb kevlar cord, and it works LIKE A CHARM! Also the LEXAN (Polycarbonate) Grapppling hook and launcher mechanism works great. I designed this in Autodesk Fusion 360 and milled it on BoXZY.

SPIDER-MAN Homecoming is going to be an awesome movie, so glad Iron-Man is included!
