Lyman Trade Rifle: MAILORDER .50 Cal {FULL REVIEW]

Published on March 4, 2017

To shoot the blackpowder Lyman Trade Rifle is to love it. It is a traditional Hawken .50 cal rifle and a bit of that interesting history and pop culture integration is discussed here. Most strikingly is the Lyman’s quality, clearly shown in the video, delivered at moderate price. A beautifully finished solid Turkish Walnut stock sets the stage in the Lyman rifles. Lacking a trap door (preferred) this stock sets the stage for a gun that will provide decades of pride of ownership. Everyone who fired it wanted to buy one. Nice bluing, case hardening, and polished brass appointments add to to the 2nd Cool factor. Kit construction referenced. How about 1st Cool? How about awesome. The gun shot better than some modern centerfire rifles at 100 yards. And that’s with the stock sights. And the trigger’s perfect too. These capabilities lead us to a fascinating POU discussion on the Lyman Trade rifle. This will include the mountain man, Jeremiah Johnson who used two of such rifles in lethal combat against the Crowe Indian. There are equally excellent competitive Hawken rifle options but few will match the Lyman value level…if any. To put this Hawken’s value in clear focus, it will cost you less than a Glock 19. Enjoy the fun and capabilities of a quality blackpowder rifle…it works as good now as it did in 1870./////////////////////Buy at PFI’s store and use code nutnfancy (may or may not get you something on a gun purchase, not sure) www.firearmsprostore.com
