Finally, technology did something good: it’s helping eliminate the maddening home improvement store shrug, a gesture one often encounters when asking overworked and undertrained sales associates where to find a simple goddamn thing.
Enter the LoweBot.
The LoweBot (at Lowe’s, natch) can understand several languages, and, unlike the humans it will likely eventually replace, it knows where products are located. When people aren’t asking it for help, it doesn’t go outside and smoke cigarettes near the pumpkin display. Instead, it roams the aisles in search of items with low inventory.
Something tells me that once these robots start at several area San Francisco Lowe’s stores, they’ll murder their employee of the month competition.
