Love the Xheli Hero RC XQ-5 V626 Quad, but the Red Lights were still on the Front!04:33

*Please read for more info. I’ve made my point about lights on quads before and that I think they should be similar to autos, especially with the rear and be red! I couldn’t tell from the Xheli ad if the red lights were on the front or back. This is a Fantastic Quad compared to some of my others, but the lights really make it awesome!
The V626 is easy to change the lights. Since orientation is difficult with multi rotors, many of us visualize it as a car in the sky. Cars have red lights in the back and white in the front, and sometimes blue. I really only purchased this machine, to see if the red lights were on the back or not. It is very hard to tell where the front is in the Xheli ads.
I think there should be a standard. Many quad manufacturers pay attention to lighting, but many forget that many people actually fly outside in the pitch dark! If you have multiple quads and each has red lights on opposite sides, it makes for less pleasant flying trying to figure out which is which. That is like taking the clutch and brake pedal and switching them. Oh, yes you could do it, but in a panic situation, mind set usually goes for the norm. Orientation is such a problem, they had to invent Headless Mode, which really plays havoc on the mind of a real model heli pilot.
All that said, I must say, that I have purchased and reviewed Nitroplanes and Xheli stuff for a long time and many of you have also purchased from them. Maybe you did not know it, but they had given me a coupon code for all my subscribers to use, and in case your not using it, it is NIGHTFLYYER 5. That is good for additional 5% off their stuff and we thank them kindly. I’m not “married” to any manufacturer, as you should know, but remember When NitroPlanes and Xheli hit the scene, they were really the only mass market for hundreds of models online. Of course many other websites have followed, but I still like the guys over at Xheli and remember when I was their guest of honor at their first fun fly. That was a blast!

This V626 quad is totally beautiful to see in the sky at night and day. Yes, these lights could be put on any quad, but with the shape and body style, this really is a good ship for it. It may look like a Parrot, but that is where it ends. I really, no BS found the V-626 is stable, bigger, came with 2 batteries, a 4G card, and HD camera. Pretty nice machine for $115.
