At one point or another, BlackBerry made the best selling, and most trusted smartphones on the planet. And one of its earliest examples was the 7230. A device which encapsulated what the manufacturer, then called RIM (or Research In Motion) was all about. It had a great, fast, secure server and it wanted to offer customers an easy way to keep in touch via email and text-based messages, globally.

11 years later, the company still holds on to those same values and has brought back its own innovation in hardware with the Passport.

I wanted to compare BlackBerry’s latest flagship to see what has changed since those days, and see what has stayed the same.
