From comments we’ve seen (and some vids), AK shooting out to “600 yards” presents no problems at all. “My friend does it all the time” we’ve all heard lots. Let’s check it out! Here we use an SGL21 Russian built AK variant rifle, scoped, to shoot “only” to 450 yds. Easy or not? Some videos for longer range AK shooting are shot at a controlled range off a bench and some don’t even show the real misses or hits. We do. As usual we are in the windy real world desert, 15 mph crosswind today. Coupled the KTM 1190 “rest” I will miss a lot. Consider again the groups at 100 yds with xlnt ammo are about 2.5 MOA lately. Expand that circle to long range and you can start seeing some of the problems. Also consider the ballistic drop and wind performance of the 7.62x39mm. Tips given from this and other long range experience in TNP. As stated in the reviews, we still consider the AK about a 300 yd gun and in.

Also after watching this you think can hit at 600 yds with your stock AK (an iron sighted WASR10 would be perfect!) please contact us at: The Nutnfancy Project, Attn: AK Expert, 10322 S REDWOOD RD, SJ, UT 84095

If you’d like to shoot this challenge with TNP please send photo of yourself with gun you’d like to shoot and explain why you think you can make the shot. Sorry but no one with social media motivation will be accepted to keep the event pure. Only stock or mostly stock true AK variant rifles can be used. You will pay all expenses and your performance will be shown to the world. We would be excited to see you connect at 600 yds with your AK!
