The home on the island was used by the family for many years, and some of the employees and guests would also stay on the island occasionally
The Bannerman Surplus business was housed on his Island warehouses. He sold from the Bannermans Catalogue of Military Goods, a published catalog as thick as a phone book with surplus guns, swords and other accessories since 1865
