It took forever to get this gun for review. This is a by request GRV by TNPrs who rec’d to me the Live Free Armory AR-10 product (LFA-308) as a lighter alternative to other SAPRs reviewed here. We ran it through its paces in the desert on several outings, including snow operations. Reliability was very bad at times with both steel and brass loads (non magazine related problems all) Accuracy was superb. LFA did say there was machining problem on this particular billet upper: ” ejection port was .171” too far backward. This disrupted ejection and caused failures to eject, and subsequent double feeds.” As stated previously many times, I never prefer a billet upper and LFA should have stuck with its previous forged components (probably switching over for cost savings). Here again we another problem arising from the use of billet receivers. Perhaps I will do an updated LFA 308 review down the road.

All features of this particular LFA 308 are covered including LFA’s a la carte system of you choosing the components prior to shipment to your FFL. This gun holds a lot of promise and I do not write it off quite yet.

Nutnfancy Likability Scale: 2 of 5 (4 of 5 if reliable)
