Lenovo’s got their mojo back with the Y520: it has competitive specs for the price, a nice slim design and it’s understated (no gamer bling on the lid). The laptop starts at $850, and that gets you an Intel 7th generation Kaby Lake Core i5-7300HQ CPU, 8GB DDR4 RAM and a 1TB HDD. Our $1,180 middle configuration adds a boot 128 gig PCIe SSD, 16GB RAM and upgrades to the Core i7-7700HQ.
