Latest iPhone leak confirms major design decision

Published on April 9, 2018

Apple took the wraps off its 10th-anniversary-iPhone in September last year. The line-up was presented to the audience with high hopes at the Cupertino technology giant’s end. They hoped to reach a particular mark when it came to the iPhone X smartphone. The device was home to some of the most advanced features. The list includes a 3D camera, facial recognition technology, and support for Augmented Reality (AR) technology, dual camera systems and much more. The handset also came along with a hefty price tag of $1,000. Unfortunately for Apple, it did not end up selling as well as they were expecting. The smartphone suffered a loss of sale during the holiday season as well. In fact, the purchase was so disappointing that Apple reportedly decided to stop the production of its line-up this year.

However, the news has not yet received confirmation. Nevertheless, the company hopes to change the loss into a success story this year. According to newer reports, the Cupertino technology giant is planning on making significant changes to its iPhone line-up of 2018. The company will reportedly be pushing the price higher so that they can achieve. An internal memo leaked online goes on to reveal that Apple will be adding a new iPhone model as early as next week in the market.

The news first showed up on the ever-reliable media publication website MacRumors. Earlier this week, they went ahead and published the internal memo of Apple. According to the report released by them, they attained an internal memo from Virgin Mobile stating that the Cupertino technology giant will be launching its heavily-anticipated limited edition (PRODUCT) RED versions of iPhone 8 and 8 Plus as soon as next week. The memo further goes on to state that Virgin Mobile will be adding the models to its inventory as soon as Monday. In other words, pre-orders for the upcoming handset will begin as early as in the next 24 hours. However, the Cupertino technology giant has not yet confirmed the matter. Therefore, it cannot be known for sure whether the firm plans on carrying this deed out.

Moreover, the release of (PRODUCT) RED edition of iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus is slightly altered than what had taken place last year. As can be recalled, the Tim Cook-led firm took the wraps off its iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus (PRODUCT) RED versions in March last year. A report by Forbes states, “Conspiracy theorists will speculate this is so Apple can prop up what is expected to be a weak third quarter, but that’s impossible to know.” Furthermore, the smartphone’s sales will go on to benefit Apple, who is currently in dire need to do so as such. Apple will be launching its long-overdue ‘AirPower’ wireless charging alongside its latest set of iPhone models. The smartphone is ready for launch along with its wireless charging chord.

It remains to be seen whether (PRODUCT) RED iPhone 8 and 8 Plus models end up appealing to the customers. They are already excited about the significant changes that are expected to arrive later this year in the form of iPhone SE 2. However, whether they do end up being present in the iPhone X models as well, is something that only time will tell as such. As for Apple, there’s nothing to gain or lose. “Ultimately, whether (PRODUCT)RED iPhones appeal to customers already excited by the bigger changes coming to the range later in the year (particularly the redesigned iPhone SE2) remains to be seen,” notes the report by Forbes.
