CHECK OUT OUR 5 VIDEO PLAYLIST OF KEN BONES MEMORIAL FLIGHTS ETC –

the thumb nail picture was designed by sophie Randel & mike booth,

this video will not mean anything to the vast majority of my subscribers but I hope it will bring back many happy memories
to the many friends (and family) that grew to love ken over the years,

deano & I only knew ken for around six years from filming on the uk airshow flightlines and club fly-ins so we didn’t get to know him socially (lived to far apart) but the times we spent with him and the other teds will always be remembered with fondness and love,

although only 56 when he died (way too young) and only two years older than me ken reminded me of my late father (also called ken)who died eleven years ago of cancer, the fact that ken himself had battled cancer for three years and beaten it reminded me even more of my father for some reason,

so we were all totally devastated to hear the shocking news of kens passing (especially since he had the all clear from cancer the day before)
we both last saw ken about three weeks before he passed at a model fly-in and sat and chatted with him throughout the day – great memories for both of us to cherish,

I can only imagine the memories that his close friends and family must hold dearly to themselves,

ive put these clips together and hope they bring many happy memories to his family and friends alike,

the second music clip from the film Memphis belle and the last music clip the battle of Britain march were favorite tunes of kens,

the rest of the music was my choice, each clip has a special meaning to me so if anybody dislikes any of the music then just mute it,

I came across the poem at the beginning of the video many years ago (and recently from paul Williams thank you) and thought it was apt for ken !

its called “high flight” written by a rcaf battle of Britain spitfire pilot called john Gillespie magee jr – who was sadly killed in his spitfire in a middair collision three months later, (look it up on google – makes for sad reading)

“Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth,
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I’ve climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, –and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of –Wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov’ring there
I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air…
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark or even eagle flew —
And, while with silent lifting mind I’ve trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God”.
