Have you ever heard of Intel Management Engine, or AMD’s Platform Security Processor? These are both hardware technologies built right into Intel and AMD CPUs that have full access to the entire system, but we don’t really know anything about them. More worrying, is these cannot be disabled. It’s unlikely that these are actually spying on you, but the problem is if malicious people were to crack the technology and have control over any computer.
