Almost everyone has experienced brain freeze when you consume a frozen beverage too quickly. Well this gave me an idea, what if we created the ULTIMATE BRAIN FREEZE by dipping a real brain in liquid nitrogen!
First we laid out a plastic mat to catch the majority of the debris. Buckle your seat belt, we’re on our way to the top of a 6 story parking garage to drop this baby off. The cold is almost too much to handle, as the brain breaks into pieces before we can get it out of the beaker. We’ve made it this far, down she goes! Like broken glass, shattering into a million pieces.
Next for a better shot, we freeze two more brains and smash them with hammers!
Obtaining liquid nitrogen is relatively easy as long as you have the proper container to transport it in. We performed these experiments inside of Pyrex 4 liter beakers. They were expensive, but they are the largest on the market, and so I can try this experiment on a wide variety of objects. What else should I try and freeze?
