Iraqi Army and Special Forces during the battle for Baiji. The Battle of Baiji is an ongoing battle taking place in Baiji, Iraq, beginning in late December 2014. Now Iraqi forces and Shi’ite forces launched an offensive to recapture Baiji, after losing control of the city to IS. On 29 June, Iraqi forces nearly fully captured Baiji city.
