iPhone6 + running iOS 9.1 Beta and the S6 Edge+ running Android 5.1.1 were connected to the internet through the same Wi-Fi connection and the same server prior to the test. When the internet speed was tested on the first server, the download speeds that were obtained were quite similar in both smartphones while the upload speed difference was clearly visible. The iPhone 6+’s upload speed was around three times lower than that of the S6 Edge +.
When tested on a second server, the results were still similar in comparison. Therefore it can be concluded that the clear winner when both download and upload speeds are considered in these two devices is the Galaxy S6 Edge plus from Samsung.
