The Mail app on your iOS device may not be the greatest client in the world, but it’s preinstalled and it gets the job done.

When you open the Mail app you’re presented with each message including the sender, subject, and and a preview of the first few lines. While this is a great feature, it’s equally as helpful to view more emails at once.

With a quick visit to the Settings app, you can change how many emails are shown on the screen at one time by decreasing the preview size of your email.

To adjust the Mail app’s message preview size, watch the video or follow the steps below:

Step 1: Go into the Settings app on your device.

Step 2: Next, scroll down to “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” and tap on it.

Step 3: Under the “Mail” section towards the lower half of the screen, tap on the row labeled “Preview.”

Step 4: Here you’ll be able to choose how many lines each email displays as a preview of its body. You can also select “None” to only display the sender and subject of each message. Alternatively, you can select “5 Lines” to display a larger message preview with less emails on the screen.

Once you’ve exited the Settings app, the changes will take effect immediately. Launch the Mail app on your device and enjoy its new layout.
