Southern California Edison (SCE) is investing the future of cybersecurity on the electric grid. In this video from the Transactive Energy Conference, Jeff Gooding, IT GM, Smart Grid Engineering, at SCE talks about their work with the Department of Defense to transfer military grade cybersecurity onto the electric grid which is currently being showcased in the Irvine Smart Grid Demonstration Project. This technology can also act as a distributed control network which could enable future interactions with transactive energy markets.
