Jordan Matter believes in the creative power of serendipity. As a speaker Matter has infectious energy and wit, and he uses his experiences as a photographer to illustrate a grander concept- the power of “maybe.” In every challenging moment he encounters on a photo shoot, Matter encourages himself and his subjects to resist saying “no” in favor of “maybe.” That simple adjustment has led to a body of images celebrated throughout the world. Matter has made a career out of relying on the unknown to provide inspiration, and he will highlight this process using stories from some of his most challenging (and illegal) shoots.
