Here is a 1W blue laser I built into a tiny AA flashlight. It is focusable and can burn lots of stuff!
Battery is 14500, so lifetime per charge is not that great, but oh well. Duty cycles are very short because a 1W laser in a small host with not much heatsinking gets hot quick! Driver is a flexdrive set somewhere near an amp.
