Here’s how I made “Red on the left” Night helicopter Blades. There’s a drawback and a plus!

Published on October 25, 2017

The drawback of my design is that no matter which way the heli is flying, the red blade is on the left and it doesn’t help with orientation. (The red is actually brighter in person) The plus is that it is easy to track them in the dark. Here I show you how I made them using carbon fiber blades this time, how to track them, and how it flies both ways. I prefer the total green ring as the simplest way, but I think another way with hall effect transistors or magnetic reed switches could be used to turn the Red LED on when it is directly to the left of the body. Watching only the halo can be deceiving too, as its hard to tell whether your coming or going when hovering. Thanks for watching and please hit that subscribe button for more. Thanks kindly.
