How to Activate Heads Up Notifications on Android

In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to enable Android L style heads up notifications on your HTC One. To do this we will be using the Heads Up! app, which costs $0.99 on Google Play. There is also a test version available on the original XDA thread for the app. This does not require root and is compatible with the M7, M8, and any other Android running 4.3+.
The setup is pretty straight forward. Just add an app to the whitelist and it will be all set to use heads up notifications. There is also the option to disable the app from affecting from silent and ongoing notifications. To open an app tied to the notification you will need to double tap it while it is displayed, the timeout of the notifications can be set in the settings as well.
