We’re at Tom McCall Waterfront Park, in Portland, OR, testing out the Genesis Tomahawk Electric Longboard.

The Genesis Tomahawk Electric Longboard is one of the most affordable boards on the market right now, and although it has one of the cheapest entry prices for an electric longboard, it does come with a lot of high-end features.

Looking at the design of the board, you get a 42-inch deck, made out of 8 ply maple, that gives the board that balances spring and stability. You’ll also given a set of some pretty beefy, 89 millimeter wheels, that make it easy to glide over cracks, and other minor obstructions in your path. The Tomahawk also has breaks, which will allow new longboard riders to be much more confident on the board.

The Tomahawk is powered by two brushless dc motors in the back wheels. The benefit of this, is that it’s not a belt driven system, so you can roll freely, even when the board doesn’t have any power.

The Genesis Tomahawk Electric Longboard can go up to 20 MPH and 20 miles of distance on a single charge. The Genesis Tomahawk retails for $500.
