Forum 8 displayed their new UC-win/Road Drive Simulator which combines VR software with the drive simulator hardware.

The new simulator can create perfectly controlled environments including weather, time of day and traffic patterns.

Not only is the exterior environment simulated in detail, the feel of the road and difference in control and acceleration of the various cars can be felt by the driver.

The drive simulator is intended for research that requires fast and versatile modeling.

This new system has been improved from previous designs by adding a three channel monitor and creating software that allows for a variety of driving conditions and hazards such as pedestrians and animals in order to create a more realistic, engrossing experience.

The system is available world wide and is currently used at research centers in Japan and America.

The UC-win/Road system can transfer data to engineering programs such as Civil 3D to aid in the design of roads and highways.

Lighting variances such as tunnels and night driving can be simulated as well as road obstructions in order to see the various affects on traffic.

The base price for the UC-win/Road Drive Simulator $40,800 and the system can be customized to meet the customers needs.
