In a survival situation, a compact, lightweight and powerful weapon is a much needed item. Slingshot crossbows are ideally suitable for the task, but they have one major disadvantage: They are bulky.

This new design addresses the issue: It folds down to half the shooting length, and the wooden construction makes it very lightweight (about 600 gramms, 1.3 lb).

The folding mechanism doubles as a cocking aid. Much like a break barrel air rifle, unfolding the weapon cocks the bands, and the weapon is ready for shooting in just one second.

The video also shows the accuracy – bottles can be hit easily from a 10 meter (33 ft) distance.

The video also contains one more drawing of an original “Hänsel and Gretel” backpack, filled with a stainless steel Jörg Sprave slingshot! Drawing takes place on the 3rd of March, 2013. All you have to do is leaving a comment to this video. EDIT: Drawing is complete, Brian Krause is the winner.

A “The Slingshot Channel” production!
