Expedition 42/43 Soyuz Commander Anton Shkaplerov of the Russian Federal Space Agency, NASA Flight Engineer Terry Virts and Flight Engineer Samantha Cristoforetti of the European Space Agency launched to the International Space Station on Nov. 24, Kazakh time, from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan to begin a 5 ½-month mission aboard the station.
