Lisa Gade reviews the Eve V, a Surface Pro clone with a crowdsourced twist. Eve Tech asked potential buyers and tech dreamers on the Internet what they’d like to see in a variant of the popular Microsoft Surface Pro. Some really good things come of this like USB-C, Thunderbolt 3, a keyboard with several backlight colors, a keyboard that works when detached from the tablet and strong battery life.

The price is lower than Microsoft’s Surface Pro, and the N-Trig pen and keyboard are included. The CPUs aren’t as fast though, with Intel Core m3 and Y series 4.5 watt low power Core i5 and i7 rather than the standard 15 watt CPUs in Surface Pro and Ultrabooks. The Windows 10 tablet/ 2-in-1 has an excellent high resolution Sharp IGZO display with a 3:2 aspect ratio, a matte black metal casing, Surface Pro style kickstand and a starting price of $799 (our higher end model sells for $1600).
