Esky D-700 Helicopter with Retractable Landing Gear-Camera Module. by NightFlyyer.04:33

Taking the experience I learned from installing my retract module on my Quads and Hexrotored machines, I decided to make one for my D-700 3D helicopter this time. Although helis inherently vibrate more than quads, they also have a very low ground clearance. For that reason not many folks use stock helis for camera platforms anymore since the advent of smooth multirotored machines. Cameras hanging down from small helis, usually means low ground clearance with short landing gears. Stock landing gears aren’t too good either and need to be higher or they are usually in the view of the wide angle cameras. I made a simple retractable landing gear to eliminate that, plus it makes the unit look better and more aerodynamic. Many different ways to do this can be done and with the advent of the inexpensive electric retracts from Nitroplanes, even a scale Airwolf can be had. I am hoping this inspires you to design your own.
