These funky racing cars are powered by an elastic band. However the engine (the rubber band) does not power the wheels, instead it powers the propeller at the back of the car.
There is a special winding device, and you back the car into this, so that the propeller engages with the mechanism. You then turn the winding handle a maximum of 12 turns, and then when you are ready, press the release button.
Off shoots the car, powered by the propeller at the back. The car is incredibly light, and can go for quite a distance on the floor.
