SpaceX’s Dragon capsule successfully launched into Earth orbit aboard the company’s Falcon 9 vehicle on Wed., Dec. 8. The spacecraft then safely re-entered the atmosphere and splashed down in the Pacific Ocean.The flight is a demonstration test for NASA’s Commercial Orbital Transportation Services program to develop commercial supply services to the International Space Station and encourage the growth of the commercial space industry.
