It’s a question on almost everyone’s mind: Is this food any good? And pretty soon, you might have a technically accurate answer to the question.

A new edible sensor can keep track of a food’s temperature, making sure it stays below a certain point. The durable sensor, which is a fifth the thickness of a human hair, is safe to use on food. Currently, the sensor still has to connect to an inedible microchip. But researchers are working on a biocompatible energy chip.
