DJI Mavic 2 Zoom, the First Drone to Zoom

Published on January 11, 2019

DJI is a brand that is most well known for their premium film making and photography accessories, which are common among professional photographers. One of their most famous and critically acclaimed peripherals is their Mavic lineup of drones.

The Maivc lineup of drones is very famous for the immense portability and uncompromised camera quality and stability. Their Mavic was so well received that it eventually overshadowed their previous drone lineup called Phantom, thanks to the portability and the overall better image quality.

The newest addition to the Mavic lineup is the new Mavic 2 Zoom which greatly improves on the features of the drone and makes for a more professional product. The zoom lens offers two times more optical zoom that will allow you to get those far away shots with less hassle.

Although the zoom comes with a fewer megapixels as compared to its pro counterpart (the pro has 20 megapixels and the zoom has 12 megapixels), it is a fair compromise as the Mavic 2 pro lacks the zoom feature. Other than slight differences in image quality, the Mavic 2 Zoom is very similar to the Mavic 2 Pro.

The Mavic 2 Pro is a big leap forward in the development of drones for the first time as the drone allows you to zoom into and focus more on your desired subject. This zoom, coupled with the drones control range of nearly 5 km, is a very versatile product.

Final Thoughts

DJI has managed to solidify itself as the single most innovative camera peripherals and accessory maker, mostly in part thanks to the Mavic 2 Zoom. If you are someone who is looking for a good drone with amazing picture quality, a very small learning curve, and an incredible zoom function, then look no further.
