Tabbing solar cells for DIY Solar Panels requires an encapsulation method for solar cell protection. This step works well for resins that are less expensive and do not tolerate extensive UV exposure. The tape filters the UV and also locks the cells in place. There are several UV resistant Duct Tapes and other power adhesive tapes on the market. I like standard White Strapping Tape
